Finding something new

Dear reader,

This weekend Juulia and I romped around a new trail 20 minutes away that I had no idea existed. It was so so stunning. I wish photos could capture the delicious mossy beds & the gray heron & the river with the mountains in the background. But alas, they don’t. We also explored a new beach and it was incredible & lovely & relaxing & gosh I love the ocean.

Something I am always reminding myself: the moment I think I know is the moment I’m about to round a corner of possibility and the unknown.

I know by now that what feels the most familiar to me — the most mundane or comfortable — is an opportunity to take a new route, explore a new perspective, uncover a different angle I hadn’t previously considered.

I am grateful to remember: 29 years of living, loving, & learning in a place and I still haven’t even scratched the surface of everything there is to explore & experience & see.
